In Memoriam

Bob.jpg
1981- It was a day the Great Leader will remember forever.

Right after school classes, Our hero was walking toward the
bus stop when he heard the news. His scholmates were in tears.
When he got home he found his sisters in tears, in a sunny day.

Bob Marley will be remembered as a Great Leader of a Cultural
Movement, a voice of Freedom and a spiritual beacon.

Transparent Leaderonia

The Poetry Czar has dedicated this poem to Our Great Leader

We will die in transparent Leaderonia,
Where the Great Leader rules over us.
With each breath we taste death?s air,
Each hour celebrates our death.
Harsh Athena, goddess of the sea,
Cast off your helmet of stone.
We will die in transparent Leaderonia
Where the Great Ruler reigns, not you.

Bill's Art World

LEADERONIA-In the upper west side of the island of Manhat-
tan, east of Leaderonia, there is a complex of buildings full
of bright young people, busying themselves in one of the
most expensive education systems of the World.
The Columbia University was the location of a display of art
students' work just a couple of weeks ago. The Great Leader
did walk in front of famed Alma Mater statue, remembering
the days Alum., Her Greatness, used to be a student, and
also fantasizing about taking a course in something.
He was invited by P.F. Julieta Lopez Aranda, one very
bright mind.
Her work called "Bill's Art World" received the GL attention and
the title of BEST WORK for the 1st Quarter of '05.
P.F. Julieta L. Aranda was then appointed Chairwoman of
Leaderonia Art Council.
The People of Leaderonia are invited to read her words by

Full Worm Moon

Fullmoonnamesanddates.jpg

From The Almanac.com:

--HISTORICALLY, THE Indians of what are now the northern
and eastern United States kept track of the seasons by giving a
distinctive name to each recurring full Moon, this name being
applied to the entire month in which it occurred.
With some variations, the same Moon names were used throughout
the Algonquin tribes from New England to Lake Superior
.

Other names used for March Full Worm Moon:
Full Crow Moon, Full Crust Moon, Full Sugar Moon, Full Sap Moon.

Listen

A offering to the Great Leader from the Poetry Czar
of the Greenpoint Autonomous Region of Leaderonia
in honor of the Great Delivery...if a bit late...

Listen,
if stars are lit
it means - there is someone who needs it.
It means - someone wants them to be,
that someone deems those specks of spit
magnificent.

And overwrought,
in the swirls of afternoon dust,
he bursts in on the Great Leader,
afraid he might be already late.
In tears,
he kisses the Great Leader's sinewy hand
and begs him to guarantee
that there will definitely be a star.
He swears
he won't be able to stand
that starless ordeal.

Later,
He wanders around, worried,
but outwardly calm.

And to everyone else, he says:
'Now,
it's all right.
You are no longer afraid,
are you?'

Listen,
if stars are lit,
it means - there is someone who needs it.
It means it is essential
that every evening
at least one star should ascend
over the crest of the building.

Verene on Cracker

LEADERONIA- One of the Great Leader favorite people
is Mr. Chris Verene. He is a photographer/drummer and
overall an american child.
The first time the GL encountered Mr.Verene was in Times
Square NY. The GL was walking with Segretary Of Sound
Jung when they stopped in front of a shop window where
a gentleman with a tuxedo and fake mustaches was talking
in to a mike and with the help of two young ladies dressed
up in circus outfit was demostrating various sensational tricks.
On the sidewalk among the crowds watching the show the
GL ons Mr. Jung responded to Mr. Verene call for a volounteer.
The Performance was astonishing, the large man in the window
dared everyone and the GL, at that moment in the window, to
put his bare hand in a hot scorching toaster. He did.

The stunt was one the many exceptional events that occur in
the city of New York, and the GL walked out of that window
only to find himself in a museum in Paris, The Centre Pompidou,
and browsing art books where he spotted a familiar face in a
photography book by an american Chris Verene. Same guy.

Now the star of Mr. Verene is bright and after other detours like
playing in a band, Cordero, as a shoeless drummer, the GL holds
this performer high in his list of events attendances, and recently
he was invited by email to Mr. Verene new event, CRACKER.

The Department of Cultural Affair with The Secretariat of the GL
invites Leaderonians to attend this event and to continue reading
the invitation received by clicking the link below.

Chris Verene will be showing work in this exhibit:

Missed Opportunities

LEADERONIA- The Department of Cultural Affair has released
the latest ART REVIEW by the Great Leader today.
With a delegation of art students from the Pratt Institute the GL
has visited with Her Greatness the recently renewed Brooklyn
Museum
on Eastern Parkway.
One of the GL priority was to evaluate the new entrance that
has recieved wide praise by the local media circus, but the GL
was not impressed and lashed out a comment that the Dept. of
Ethics and Freedoms prefers not to report on this Communique.
The Great Leader, known as passionate architophile, was then
disappointed by the "standard institutional look of this once decent
building" and said that " it looks like a bank, or a lazy commercial
center" and more " boring and unispiring".
Polshek Partnership Architects designed the renovation.

Then, after a lift up to the 4th floor the delegation visited the exhibit
"Passing/Posing: Paintings by Kehinde Wiley" a collection of large
oil painted canvases featuring young afro-american males posing as
white powerful male subject of the Renaissance master as Tiepolo,
Tiziano and so on, all very colorful and sprinkled by golden sperms.
The artist, a young one being born in 1977, seems very talented at
painting portraits and using patterns, sometimes kind of clever, but
the overall result , in the Great Leader's opinion, is shallow and geared
toward a simplific commercial avenue, maybe soda or running shoes.
The Great Leader althought did appreciated to browse a volume of art
among the books at the entrance of the exhibit, a book about one of
favorite painters of all time: Jean August Dominique Ingres.

GL taps Italian to MOVIMA

LEADERONIA.This past weekend, Our One Leader, The Great Leader (GL)
had appointed an Italian to lead the Ministry of Moving Image.
The new Secretary, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, will lead
the complex department without a staff and without a budget. The GL is
confident that the Italian will achieve the long awaited objective of finishing
the production of the Documentary, which the GL and the Italian had started
in year 2002.
Always disappointed, constantly surrounded by a cloud of smoke, irascible,
capricorn and with the gift of gourmet cooking, the Italian was an obvious
choice for the GL that knows the new Sec from the days of the Academy.
While achieving the the long awaited objective of finishing the production
of the Documentar, the Sec of MOVIMA will review from time to time a
diverse array of media and cinemathetic productions from all over the World.
The Secretary of the Office of Internal Affairs for Leaderonia and the Secretary
of The One Great Leader invite the People to post comments for the
new Appointee the Secretary of the Ministry of the Moving Image.

Art is OK in Leaderonia

The past one was an extraordinary week in the life of Lederonia,
as it was the Great Leader Visit of the Museum of Modern Art in
Manhattan, which concluded a serial of gallery visits through our
prosperous and proud community, started on last thursday at Foley's
Gallery.
The One Leader, The Great Leader was impressed by Thomas Allen
photography, which in a playfull and clever way, old books covers
are blowed life into it.
The artist and the Leader exchanged ideas and memories in a brief
conversation while the gallery owner, Mr. Foley, dressed in a dark velvet
suit entertained the visitor party with usefull and educational information
on the work displayed.
The Great Leader did leave a message on the guest book: "Neat Work Tom!".

On Saturday, The Great Leader was accompained by Her Greatness and
by personal friend and owner of the domain name of this internet site,
Ms. Numberonehitsong, in a un-scheduled visit in a boutique gallery in Long Island City.
The work shown included a take on the biosphere, photographs of the
Parade in which The Great Leader was awarded "Best Neptune 2001",
abstract paintings on paper, jewelery, fashion apparels, metal work and a
strange fountain that spelled words and maybe poetry.
Later on that day, returning in Leaderonia, the last of the galleries exhibit,
The Great Leader with Her Greatness visioned the work of several young
artist and personal friend and talented artist Ms. Ku.
Ms. Ku's drawings were hung on the walls of the crispy Open Ground space,
some were hung right in the middle on the room. Her depiction of young girls
and birds were in the artist words a recall of the cultural revolution in China
during the Great Leap Forward. The visitors could enjoy the disturbing and
twisted nightmarish images while enjoy the presence of the artist dressed
prettily and innocentely in white.
The other artists exhibited some good work and some less good, in example,
the comic book-type pop imagery or the poorly executed childish small
drawings which were taped on the wall in front of a chair with a walkman
and headphones. A finer feature was a series of decoupages assembled
delicately in columns and rows.

On Sunday the Visiting party included the Secretary of The Moving Image
the Italian, the Minister of Research of Sound Mr. Jung and The Great Leader
family member Ms. Paupardin.
In the first official visit in teh New MoMA the Great Leader was struck by the
absence of signage and the surprising unprofessionality of the floor staff.
Once inside, the crowd moved from space to space in enjoyment of famous
and less known work.
The scheduled visit included the screening of an Italian filmaker which
disappoited the Great Visiting Party especially the Italian.

Cinema and Commarades

The Great Leade approved the DOGME Cinema Legislation today , 11 years after its creation. FREEDOMIZED ART MOVEMENT ACT

From the Office of Telecommunication (Department of Energy)

The Great Leader appointed Ann Hamilton "ARTIST OF FREEDOMIZATION" for her work "Corpus" while He visited the land of western Massachusetts. Despite critizism from the anti-freedomization group CAPITALISTS'R'US, the Great Leader offered a deep concern regarding the Art World, calling all artists to work for the People, rather for the filthy rich art collectors and market driven private galleries.
Stopping short from banning all private owned galleries, The Great Leader, which had himself been an artist at age 20 for 4 months, announced the FREEDOMIZED ART MOVEMENT ACT which will provide all young emerging artist a place to meet and grow, without the corruption of the vile senseless, mother of all greed, art market. The FAMA will be the only alternative to the MoMA and such institutions, and will NOT recognize any individual artist, infact the only work that will be subsidezed is going to be collaborative, cooperative and under diverse movements and group identity.
The Great Leader will appoint individual artist for the position of Artist of Freedomization in an effort to reconciliate the old and the new art world.

Lirica da CELESTE AIDA- HEAVENLY AIDA

Libretto by Antonio Ghislanzoni
Music: Giuseppe Verdi

Se quel guerriero io fossi!
Se il mio sogno si avverasse!...
Un esercito di prodi da me guidato...

(for english keep scrolling)

Se quel guerriero io fossi!
Se il mio sogno si avverasse!...
Un esercito di prodi da me guidato...
e la vittoria
e il plauso di Menfi tutta!
E a te, mia dolce Aida,
tornar di lauri cinto...
Dirti, per te ho pugnato,
e per te ho vinto!

Celeste Aida, forma divina,
mistico serto di luce fior,
del mio pensiero tu sei regina,
tu di mia vita sei lo splendor.
Il tuo bel cielo vorrei ridarti,
le dolci brezze del patrio suol,
un regal serto sul crin posarti,
ergerti un trono vicino al sol.

Celeste Aida, forma divina,
mistico raggio di luce fior,
del mio pensiero tu sei regina,
tu di mia vita sei lo splendor.
Il tuo bel cielo vorrei ridarti,
le dolci brezze del patrio suol,
un regal serto sul crin posarti,
ergerti un trono vicino al sol.

If I were to be that warrior!
If my dream were to come true!...
An army of braves led by me...
and victory
and the acclaim of all of Memphis!
And to return to you, my sweet Aida,
crested with laurels...
To tell you, for you I fought,
and for you I conquered!

Heavenly Aida, divine form,
mystic crown of light and flowers,
you are the queen of my thoughts,
you are the splendor of my life.
I would return to you the lovely skies,
the sweet breezes of your native land,
place a royal crown upon your brow,
build you a throne close to the sun!

Heavenly Aida, divine form,
mystic ray of light and flowers,
you are the queen of my thoughts,
you are the splendor of my life.
I would return to you the lovely skies,
the sweet breezes of your native land,
place a royal crown upon your brow,
build you a throne close to the sun!
