Last Journey

LEADERONIA- The Secretariat of the Great Leader authorized
the Registry to publish the obituary recieved by fellow citizen
A. Nakhapetian:

On the cold evening of january 24th 2005 the well
loved but often mistreated suffered the final blow
from which it would never recover. many happy moments
were shared inside its weathered doors some of which
are forever forgotten dew to intoxication level of
both passingers and drivers. it served us well though
often attracting the unwanted attention of the low
enforcment that never understood the special mission
of mitsubishi diamante 1993 station vagon.
perhaps it was the fact that it had record number of
broken windows or that several severe dents were never
fixed or the fact that for 6 years of its life in the
hands of Lev, Yura, Agassi and Swagata it was never
washed.
i ask you to wish it a peacefull last journey.

Letter To America

By the Great Leader

LEADERONIA-The Office of The Great Leader released the annual
Letter To America by the Great Leader, year 2005.

American children,
To each one of you that wake up
and go to bed under the Great Sky
of the United States of America,
to each of you landlords and
to each of you migrants.

American children, listen.
for I have to tell you about Life.
Prepare to leave your pillows.
It is the morning after a long night.
From above the mountains
Prepare to descend to the Valley.

American children,
observe how things around you will change
while you reach the bottom,
and think about what you are leaving behind.
The powerlines starting to give the blue sky
a grid from your eyes.
The roadway on the ground cutting through
the surface, the grid for your life.

American children,
look at the pulverized hills of grey overpasses
shooting vehicles all around. A Circus.
Long haul vehicle and sport utility vehicles,
recreational and unmarked, cruising within
the code of the road, refueling and rest
next stop ahead. A Feast.

American children,
Be aware of Life at the bottom of the hill,
Deep rivers of fast water hide beneat streams
And murky lakes are invisible throu the woods.
The Great Land under the The Great Sky,
is shrinking and shaking and immense.

American children,
When you are moving by your will
or moving while idle,
you are witness of Life.

Ricette Italiane

La Tiella Gaetana

[from Luigi]

peperoncino amaro, pomodori, olio, sale. Secondo la tradizione, va cotta
in forno, entro speciali teglie a forma circolare.

(continua)
Preparazione impasto per 6 Persone:

- 500 gr. di farina
- 20 gr. di lievito naturale
- 3  cucchiai di olio di oliva
- 200 gr. di acqua tiepida
- sale quanto basta

- olio, prezzemolo, sale, peperoncino forte

Verene on Cracker

LEADERONIA- One of the Great Leader favorite people
is Mr. Chris Verene. He is a photographer/drummer and
overall an american child.
The first time the GL encountered Mr.Verene was in Times
Square NY. The GL was walking with Segretary Of Sound
Jung when they stopped in front of a shop window where
a gentleman with a tuxedo and fake mustaches was talking
in to a mike and with the help of two young ladies dressed
up in circus outfit was demostrating various sensational tricks.
On the sidewalk among the crowds watching the show the
GL ons Mr. Jung responded to Mr. Verene call for a volounteer.
The Performance was astonishing, the large man in the window
dared everyone and the GL, at that moment in the window, to
put his bare hand in a hot scorching toaster. He did.

The stunt was one the many exceptional events that occur in
the city of New York, and the GL walked out of that window
only to find himself in a museum in Paris, The Centre Pompidou,
and browsing art books where he spotted a familiar face in a
photography book by an american Chris Verene. Same guy.

Now the star of Mr. Verene is bright and after other detours like
playing in a band, Cordero, as a shoeless drummer, the GL holds
this performer high in his list of events attendances, and recently
he was invited by email to Mr. Verene new event, CRACKER.

The Department of Cultural Affair with The Secretariat of the GL
invites Leaderonians to attend this event and to continue reading
the invitation received by clicking the link below.

Chris Verene will be showing work in this exhibit:

Skin Ad

From the Office of Foreign Intelligence:

In an effort to understand the social canvas of the Host Land,
The United States, the new Office of Foreign Intelligence will
provide all Leaderonians the opportunity to read and discuss
the chronicle of the american human struggle, a struggle for
survival.

Here is a story of a man, Andrew Fisher.

Man auctions ad space on forehead

A 20-year-old US man is selling advertising space on his forehead to the highest bidder on website eBay.

Andrew Fisher, from Omaha, Nebraska, said he would have a non-permanent logo or brand name tattooed on his head for 30 days.

"The way I see it I'm selling something I already own; after 30 days I get it back," he told the BBC Today programme.

Mr Fisher has received 39 bids so far, with the largest bid currently at more than $322 (£171).

"The winner will be able to send me a tattoo or have me go to a tattoo parlour and get a temporary ink tattoo on my forehead and this will be something they choose, a company name or domain name, perhaps their logo," he told the Radio 4 programme.

I wouldn't go around with 666, the mark of the beast
Andrew Fisher

On the online auction, Mr Fisher describes himself as an "average American Joe, give or take".

His sales pitch adds: "Take advantage of this radical advertising campaign and become a part of history."

Mr Fisher said that while he would accept any brand name or logo, "I wouldn't go around with a swastika or anything racial".

He added: "I wouldn't go around with 666, the mark of the beast.

"Other than that I wouldn't promote anything socially unacceptable such as adult websites or stores."

He said he would use the money to pay college - he is planning to study graphic design.

The entrepreneur said his mother was initially surprised by his decision but following all the media attention she felt he was "thinking outside the box".

Missed Opportunities

LEADERONIA- The Department of Cultural Affair has released
the latest ART REVIEW by the Great Leader today.
With a delegation of art students from the Pratt Institute the GL
has visited with Her Greatness the recently renewed Brooklyn
Museum
on Eastern Parkway.
One of the GL priority was to evaluate the new entrance that
has recieved wide praise by the local media circus, but the GL
was not impressed and lashed out a comment that the Dept. of
Ethics and Freedoms prefers not to report on this Communique.
The Great Leader, known as passionate architophile, was then
disappointed by the "standard institutional look of this once decent
building" and said that " it looks like a bank, or a lazy commercial
center" and more " boring and unispiring".
Polshek Partnership Architects designed the renovation.

Then, after a lift up to the 4th floor the delegation visited the exhibit
"Passing/Posing: Paintings by Kehinde Wiley" a collection of large
oil painted canvases featuring young afro-american males posing as
white powerful male subject of the Renaissance master as Tiepolo,
Tiziano and so on, all very colorful and sprinkled by golden sperms.
The artist, a young one being born in 1977, seems very talented at
painting portraits and using patterns, sometimes kind of clever, but
the overall result , in the Great Leader's opinion, is shallow and geared
toward a simplific commercial avenue, maybe soda or running shoes.
The Great Leader althought did appreciated to browse a volume of art
among the books at the entrance of the exhibit, a book about one of
favorite painters of all time: Jean August Dominique Ingres.

Poetry Czar

DW050106.jpg

LEADERONIA- In a rare act of self criticism the Great Leader has
disbanded the History day program, and has directed his office to
turn the Historic Daily entry in Weekly. This is due, said the GL, to
the boring nature of some events, banning all boring things.

To much joy for the people of Leaderonia the Office of Culture
and Progress is delighted to announce the appointment of
Commarade KJK to the highest poetry post, and his return to
his natural land of North Leaderonia.
Commarade KJK is a prolific scholar and poetry passionate that
in order to honor his appointment and announcement has picked
a classic of all classic from Mayakovsky repertoire.
The Office of Culture and Progress invite Leaderonians to read below.

Rally the ranks into a march!
Now's no time to quibble or browse there.
Silence, you orators!
You
have the floor,
Comrade Mauser.
Enough of living by laws
that Adam and Eve have left.
Hustle old history's horse.
LEFT!
LEFT!
LEFT!

Ahoy, blue jackets!
Cross the sky-moats!
Beyond the oceans!
Unless
your battleships on the roads
blunted their keels' fighting keenness!
Baring the teeth of his crown,
let
the lion of Britain whine, gale-heft.
The commune can never go down.
LEFT!
LEFT!
LEFT!

There-
beyond sorrow's peaks,
sunlit lands uncharted.
Against hunger,
against plague's dark seas,
the marching of millions has started!
Let armies of hirelings ambush us,
streaming cold steel through every rift, -
L'Entente can't conquer the Russians,
LEFT!
LEFT!
LEFT!

Does the eye of the eagle fade?
Shall we stare back to the old?
Proletarian fingers
the throat of the world
still tighter hold!
Chests out!
Shoulders straight!
Stick to the sky red flags adrift!
Whose marching there with the right?!!
LEFT!
LEFT!
LEFT!

Fire everywhere

LEADERONIA- Having decided to wear only a light jacket
the One Leader, The Great Leader walked out the Red
Residence into the early afternoon to ear a roar of news
choppers north east of Leaderonia.
Once arrived on top of hill he could see four idle birds
scanning what could only have been Long Island City.
One half hour later after emerging onto Madison Avenue
in the neighbor island of Manhattan, the Great Leader
witnessed a typical firefighting scene at the corner of 57th
street and 5 th avenue.
Again from the 37th floor of the white tower where the GL
goes to help the cosmetic industry from time to time, from
the windows that overlook Queens, a few smoke column
rising into the grey sky.
And this is report from the NY News.

The Great Leader is convinced that closing down the Firehouses
around the City was a bad idea.

WARM NEW YEAR

LEADERONIA- Balmy weather has opened the New Year,
making the selection of clothing rather challenging for
leaderonians whom have small closets and all their spring
apparels boxed in basements.

The Great Leader which has returned to the official post after
the holidays of the year end, was asked about what new policy
will he provide to resolve this temperature rising.
Without an official statement the GL adviced fellow citizens
to complain less and to enjoy what human have asked their
gods for milleniumns : free heat during the winter.
