Aernout Mik's "Refraction" is a video installation that bends across a wall. There are a couple of benches for viewers, but they're not ideally situated; one's off to the side, and the other is sort of far away, with a partially obstructed sightline. And so, watching Refraction, you become a rubbernecker like all the rubberneckers in Mik's video, which takes place at the scene of a traffic accident: standing there uncomfortably, waiting for something to happen; straining around obstacles to see whatever there is to see.
