Things to doThere's so much stuff to do this weekend. Will I do any of it? Signs point to no. But you should. First off--and I cannot recommend this enough--there is the Water Taxi Beach, which N & I went to last weekend and enjoyed immensely. There's the cheap beers and hotdogs, but there's also all this fucking sand, right on the East River. It's magical. There's also picnic tables. It's a very family-friendly place, so if naked baby dolls discarded in the sand freaks you out, it's probably better if you don't go. There's also this promontory just to the left of the chainlink fence, a hilltop populated only by a flagpole and three trees. It begs to be stormed. Also this Saturday in LIC is the big parking lot show that all the hipsters are talking about but probably won't go to, bonus for me. But, most important, there is also a show this Saturday at Magnetic Field, a Dot Dash anniversary party featuring BBQ and the musical stylings of the King Louie One Man Band, the Scripts, the Jeffrey Novak One Man Band, and THE LIVE ONES. I question the motivation for putting two one-man bands on the same bill. We shall see. I look forward to finding out. Posted by Dana at 06:12 PM
