The Intro and the Outro

Okay. So today's the official "launch" of #1HS, inasmuch as it's possible to launch this sort of silliness.

I mean, this ain't no Nick Denton jernt. And the only creampies around here are the anal kind, as God intended. Anyhow, I want to introduce you to bmarkey, my good friend and personal musical didact, and also proprietor of Big Green House. He lives in Seattle but fortunately is not "Seattle nice." And this week, to coincide with his debut here, he's done an interview with music pioneer Marty Thau. Marty Fucking Thau! I actually giggled giddily on the subway this morning just thinking about it. Anyhow, it's an auspicious beginning, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did.

As for my part, this weekend I had planned to finish two book reviews and start on a third and maybe also punch up two record reviews to post. Instead, I did none of those things. Well, there is a review of Bitter Milk. But I have some other things in the pipeline, and even if I have to miss this week's 6FU AND Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

I hope you all enjoy the new format and find the content more compelling, now that there's supplements to my usual "I'm sooooo drunk" and "Your music sucks" meanderings. Every week, #1HS will feature book and music reviews, and soon we'll be adding art, movie, and (hopefully) retaurant reviews. And also, expect the occasional interview--in fact, I've got a pretty interesting one lined up, provided the subject lifts that fucking restraining order.

Finally, I'd like to invite your feedback, and also, if you are a marketing wonk or a PR flack and you have books, music, or beer you'd like to send this way, I also encourage you to email me, because naturally we love free shit.

While you're still blogkeeping, can you fix the RSS feed?

p.s. I just noticed the comments preview is still classic style.

Not hating, just saying.

Thanks, working on those things right now. Guess we'll have to change the "_ Days Without an Accident" sign....

Tres magnifique...But I hope you won't be forsaking any of the "your music sucks" content.

Hey! There's a shiny new jukebox in my favorite bar! WTF?

Just kidding. Looks great. But don't fuck with the "I'm sooo drunk" posts, or I'll be pissed.
