mike watt, nicest guy in rock and roll. met him once when firehose (or maybe it was some post-firehose watt side-project?) played a crappy bar in my crappy hometown. it's weird when you meet someone who you think of as some sort of cultural avatar, and they turn out not to give a shit about any of that and really just want to have a beer and talk about all the bands they think are awesome.
