jeez dana, i know you're hungry, but don't we have to draw the line at cannibalism? if you're going to eat your friends, make sure they're the ones we don't have in common... oh, and by the way, a new confection, created this weekend in my kitchen, you will appreciate: in the scottish tradition of frying shit that should never be fried, i fried a cadbury's creme egg yesterday. no shit. was making beignets, had some left over dough, wrapped the egg in it, fried it. result? perfection. like some sort of chocolately gooey eggroll. unbelievably good. don't tell anyone british. they'll steal it and sell it at the local "chippy". let this be our's instead. as proof, pictures TK.

Actually, A Salt & Battery sells these each Easter...never had the guts to try 'em, though.

before this goes any further, i have to admit that it was at least a collaborative idea with a friend, and not just something that popped into my head all stealth-like. it was A's idea to fry one, i just worked out the logistics, with the dough and whatnot. but damn it was good...

But have you ever battered and deep-fried a Peeps? Or better yet, rolled one in panko?

The amazing things about peeps is how big they get when you nuke them in a microwave.. They taste better that way too. although they "deflate" from there maximum size.
