i, for one, welcome our new idiot overlords. in fact, i'll be able to blend in perfectly, what with my knowledge of redneck culture.
Posted by: reeves at July 1, 2004 01:51 PM30% (of lead paint chip eaters) would rather have the government deciding the propriety of ideas?? Why am I not suprised? The results of this survey prove a true "dumbing down" of America.
Think about it: Freedom of expression, including freedom of speech, of the press and of religion, the right to assemble and petition the government all equal power. The First Amendment gives us that power, but sadly, as the poll results suggest, some (who thought Taco Bell was a Mexican phone Co.) believe it's too much freedom for us to handle.
Too bad those 30% (who'd trip over a cordless phone) couldnt just exercise their right to refuse to read, watch or listen to anything they deem offensive.
Word.

Posted by: Fes at July 8, 2004 11:24 AMWhich is to say, perhaps our historically low voter turnout rate isn't necessarily the bad thing it's portrayed to be.
