Love me, I'm a bat-wielding liberal

Bummed that the protest permit was denied? According to the Times, some protestors intend to infiltrate the GOP Convention by posing as volunteers.

Or, you could try this tactic.

I think that Craig's List ad was posted by Wallace Shawn.

infiltration: great idea. Hanging out at MSG when it's filled with Republicans (even for a subversive cause): not so good.

GOP thinking NYC would offer TLC? That's just stupid.

it's gonna be fucking madness. rednecks everywhere. security everywhere. and several hundred thousand of our closest, angriest friends. can't wait. it's gonna be chaos, and i've already designed the t-shirt:

FASCISTS GO HOME!

I remember seeing this guy in a bar once who wore a t-shirt mentioning the last Dem. convention in Chicago. It said "We kicked your fathers ass in '68 and now we're gonna kick yours."

I imagine they still can. It's also really depressing watching everything unfold like a bad rerun, or rather remake of an old movie, where everyone seems way too eager to play their roles to the hilt.

I'm just soooooo glad my office is moving from 5 Penn Plaza next week...

jonmc, it's amazing how everything reminds you of something else, isn't it? oh, how jaded you are.

Posted by: they're-grrrrrreeves at April 30, 2004 10:43 AM

Just make me into oriental jewelry, reeves.

The irony is that when I was a young buck, I desperately wanted to be a jaded, cynical, man of the world. Now that I'm older, I'd give anything to be a naive, innocent sap.

*sigh*

Another tactic would be to offer your room in exchange for raunchy gay sex with sexy young republicans under the age of 25. It would be a win-win situation.

Posted by: Frank at April 30, 2004 03:57 PM

Frank, I think we should start a "raunchy gay republican sex" googlebomb, don't you?

Posted by: dana at April 30, 2004 04:56 PM

YES. With enough response, maybe they would all be too sore to even make it to the convention. Another win-win situation.
