Speaking of penises

Thanks, Fes, for the piece about the founders of Sweet Action magazine. If it didn't look so cool I'd be miffed that they did it before I did. Anyhow, as you can imagine, I've pre-ordered my copy.

"Girls want porn!" says Taggart. But - and this is essential, they stress - not porn stars.

Nah. They just want to create a different kind. Women's standards are every bit as unrealistic as mens.

And the last thing the world needs is hipsters taking over porn. They've already co-opted heavy metal and baseball caps. Can't these people leave ma anything?

Oh, here we go again. I forgot that I'm not allowed to like porn. And that my expectations are unrealistic. Thanks for the reminder.

People are allowed to like whatever they want. I'm just sick of things I genuinely like becoming "ironically" cool. It makes me feel like I'm being made fun of.

The unrealistic standards thing was basically a riposte to the tone of the article, which seemed to be positing that this women's mag is somehow more egalitarian than any girlie mag.

The main complaint that many feminists have against porn is that it objectifies women and sets unrealistic standards of beauty. These girls may be coming up with a different standard (since it's a female run mag for females, and that's kind of a new thing)but it's really just the same thing in reverse. Pretty people taking pictures of pretty people. Nothing wrong with that, but it'shardly agreat leap forward for humanity.

honey, don't fret.
every girl thinks her expectations are unrealistic, till they meet me.

Damnit, he promised me he'd never, ever post those pics! That's what I get for helping out a "friend" who just wanted to take a few pics "for his own enjoyment." Fucker.

Also, I just learned that penises are NSFW. I should therefore take mine home now.

Pretty people taking pictures of pretty people? Have you seen any photographers lately? Well-dressed, btu generally ugly and smelly. Seriously. And we have no idea what kind of men will be featured in the mag. I hope they get some boys who have a little heft to them. And some lovely boys of all nationalities. Are you going to the party, Dana? I surely am.
